This lithographic poster was printed for the Georges Braque artist monograph, published by Editions Pierre Tisné, Paris in 1953. The artwork depicted is an original Painting titled 'Canéphore' by Braque created in 1926. It is a skillfully colored work that pays tribute to both classicism and cubism

Braque was a French painter, sculptor, and printmaker who was one of the most important artists of the 20th century. Together with Picasso he founded Cubism. Braque's early works were heavily influenced by the Impressionists, particularly Paul Cézanne, and he painted landscapes and still lifes in a Post-Impressionist style.

The poster is framed with a wide hand painted blue frame and sand-colored passepartout and background.
