"ORTF à tous" was commissioned by the ORTF in the 1960s as a public artwork to be displayed at their headquarters in Paris. The sculpture consists of abstract forms and shapes, characteristic of Calder's signature style of mobiles and stabiles. The text "ORTF à tous" translates to "ORTF for all," reflecting the broadcaster's mission to serve the public.

During this period, France experienced significant social and political upheaval, including student protests, labor strikes, and debates over the role of the media and cultural institutions in society. The ORTF, as the state-owned broadcaster, played a crucial role in shaping public discourse and disseminating information to the French population.

The piece is a slightly patinated and damaged in few places but has been restored.
