DKK 3,100.00

Original lithographic poster with art by Édouard Dermit for exhibition at Galerie Montmorency in Paris 1959.

Édouard Dermit, born Antoine, was the eldest of five siblings, born to parents who had migrated from Slovenia to work in the iron mines of Lorraine. Initially working as a miner in Bouligny (Meuse), he harbored a deep passion for painting, leading him to Paris in 1947. A chance encounter at Paul Morihien's bookstore introduced him to Jean Cocteau, who became both his employer and collaborator. He later admitted to having been Cocteau’s lover during this time.

The poster has a few discreet wavy bends at the bottom left corner which are visible on the picture and is accounted for in the price.

The poster is framed with a hand painted mint green frame and warm sand-colored passepartout and background.

H 81 x W 59 cm.
