Original lithographic poster with art by Bernard Buffet for exhibition at Musée Galliera in Paris 1958. The piece on the poster is titled “Les Parisiennes”. The exhibition was called “Les Peintres Témoins de Leur Temps” (the painters witnesses of their time). Printed by Mourlot on arches paper.

Bernard Buffet was a prominent French painter and one of the leading figures of the post-war School of Paris. He gained fame in the mid-20th century for his distinctive style, characterized by stark lines, somber colors, and a focus on urban and figurative subjects.

Buffet's subjects varied from still lifes and landscapes to portraits and self-portraits. He was also known for his depictions of clowns and harlequins, which often carried a sense of melancholy.
