Georges Braque was a French painter, sculptor, and printmaker who was one of the most important artists of the 20th century. Together with Picasso he founded Cubism. Braque's early works were heavily influenced by the Impressionists, particularly Paul Cézanne, and he painted landscapes and still-lives in a Post-Impressionist style.
The piece is framed with a hand lacquered black frame with a hand gilded inner edge, passepartout in a deep berry tone and a teal background.
