Original lithographic poster with art by François Szulman for exhibition at Galerie Régis Langlöys in Paris 1975. “ Oranges, fleur et pommes”

François Szulman was a French painter whose work combined everyday life, memory and poetic imagination. He painted landscapes, village or harbour scenes, everyday life, still lifes and portraits always with a distinctive style marked by thick, enamel-like paint, vivid, luminous color and a “faux naïf” or slightly simplified, symbolic representation that evokes memory, innocence or dreamlike nostalgia.

His work is often described as blending naive art, symbolism and subtle expressionism: rather than simply representing reality, he re-imagined it. It creates poetic, festive or meditative worlds full of light, warmth and inner energy.

The poster is framed with a hand painted dark blue frame with leaf detailing and it is placed on a light sand-colored background.

H 85 x W 63 cm.
