Henri Manguin was a French painter associated with the Fauvist movement and known for his colorful and expressive works. He was born in Paris and studied at the École des Beaux-Arts under Gustave Moreau, a prominent Symbolist painter. Manguin's early style was influenced by Impressionism, but he later embraced Fauvism, a movement characterized by bold colors and simplified forms.
Manguin's paintings often depicted scenes of leisure and everyday life, including landscapes, still lifes, and portraits. He had a particular affinity for capturing the Mediterranean landscape and the vibrant colors of the South of France, where he spent much of his time.
