New Year’s greeting card issued by Les Éditions de l’Image Littéraire, a fine art and bibliophile publishing house based in 1950 in Nice, France.

The artwork on the card is an illustration from their publication Manon Lescaut. A novel by Abbé Prévost that tells the tragic love story of Manon, a beautiful young woman and explores love, desire, and moral downfall and has inspired many adaptations, including famous operas by Massenet and Puccini.

The card was sent to clients and collectors, wishing them well for the new year and inviting them to keep the numbered card for a raffle. The prize was “un ouvrage de grand luxe”.

The piece is framed with a wide antique silver frame (5 cm), light passepartout, and a light pink background.
