Giorgio Morandi (1890–1964) was an Italian painter and printmaker famous for his quiet, intimate still-life compositions of ordinary bottles, jars, and boxes. Working with a subtle, muted palette, he spent decades painting the same simple objects to explore form, light, and space.
The Giorgio Morandi 1979 Berggruen poster is an original vintage exhibition poster created for a specialized exhibition of Morandi's printmaking works, titled Morandi: 50 Gravures (50 Engravings/Etchings). The exhibition took place at the prestigious Berggruen & Cie Galerie in Paris and was accompanied by an art book publication.
