Original poster with art by Anna Ancher for exhibition at Skagens Museum in 1963.

Anna Ancher is seen as one of Danish painting's truly great figures and as one of the most significant impressionist painters in Danish art. Her quiet, luminous portrayals of domestic interiors and local life made her a defining figure of the Skagen Painters, a late 19th-century artist colony in northern Denmark. Her artistry focused on the play of natural light and color in quiet domestic scenes—women sewing, children reading, or moments of solitude.

This particular piece is titled ‘Studie af sypigens hoved, Ane’ (Study of the head of a sycamore girl, Ane) made in 1890.

The poster is framed with a hand painted burned light orange frame and is placed on a light peach passepartout.

H 60 x W 43 cm.
