Original lithographic poster with art by Louis Süe for exhibition at Galerie André Weil in Paris 1961.

Louis Süe was a prominent French painter, architect, and designer known for his significant role in shaping French decorative arts during the early 20th century. Though trained as a painter, Süe became especially influential as a designer and decorator, bridging the gap between fine art and applied arts with an elegant, modern aesthetic deeply rooted in classical harmony.

After studying at the École des Beaux-Arts in Paris, Süe was initially aligned with Symbolism and post-Impressionist painting, exhibiting in salons like the Salon d’Automne. However, his career took a pivotal turn when he became increasingly involved in architecture and design.

The poster is framed with a beautiful wooden frame, with dark gray passepartout, and is placed on a burned orange background.
