A rare original lithographic poster with art by Jean Cocteau from 1965. The exhibition titled "Taureaux" was a tribute to three Spanish bullfighters (Pedrés, Curro Romero & El Cordobés) who were very famous in the 1960s, and Cocteau had created 32 lithographs in their honor for the occasion

The image shows a stylized drawing by Jean Cocteau of a bullfighter (likely representing El Cordobés), with a bull’s head in the background. It is characteristic of Cocteau’s minimal, expressive line work. The poster is also signed and dated “Jean Cocteau / 63,” indicating the artwork itself was originally created in 1963.

Jean Cocteau had a deep interest in Spanish culture and bullfighting, which he considered a form of art akin to performance and theater. Although he died in 1963, this exhibition in 1965 was posthumous and aimed to showcase his fascination with the dramatic and ritualistic nature of bullfighting through lithographs.

The pieces is framed with a hand silvered frame and with light gray passepartout.
