Original lithographic poster with art by Robert Vernet-Bonfort for exhibition at Galerie 65 in Cannes 1966.
Robert Vernet-Bonfort was a French painter and lithographer from Marseille. Educated at the École des Beaux-Arts in his hometown, he developed a lyrical, light-filled style deeply inspired by the landscapes and atmosphere of southern France. After losing his hearing as a child, Vernet-Bonfort turned to visual art as his primary means of expression, creating paintings that balance realism and poetry.
His work often depicts still lifes, gardens, and Mediterranean scenes, characterized by refined compositions, warm colours, and a gentle play of light. Exhibiting widely in France and abroad from the 1950s onward, Vernet-Bonfort earned several awards, including the Elisabeth T. Greenshields Foundation Prize in 1965. His art reflects a quiet sensitivity and a lifelong dialogue between form, color, and emotion
The piece is framed with a hand painted frame in a burned red tone and embelished with drizzles of a light gray color, with light gray passepartout, and placed on a warm brown background in an olive tone.
